The principals of Capital Partners have developed over six million square feet of commercial, office and industrial projects in the past ten years. More than half of this development activity consisted of build-to-suit projects.

For our build-to-suit projects, we take ownership of the entire development process as if Capital Partners was the end-user.

Having developed nearly $500 million worth of projects, we know the right questions to ask to understand the needs and objectives of our clients. Our Team
JOHN BUCKEL – SENIOR PARTNER, LEED® AP, SIOR

John Buckel has been involved in commercial real estate for over twenty years and has participated in the development of over three million square feet of buildings. Prior to co-founding Capital Partners Development Company in 2002, he was the partner for the San Francisco Bay Area region of Panattoni Development Company and developed over one million square feet of commercial property with a value in excess over a four year period of $100 million.
Drawing on this experience, his nine years as a commercial real estate broker and nine years experience in hi-tech manufacturing, John applies skillful needs assessment and creative problem-solving in his approach to developing build-to-suit projects and those developed on a speculative basis.
John has developed commercial projects of all types for both public- and private-sector clients, but specializes in the development of office and industrial/flex buildings. His responsibilities have included all aspects of the development process including:
• site location/evaluation
• master planning
• market assessment and economic analysis
• entitlements, design
• construction financing
• contract negotiations
• leasing and sales
John is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and is a LEED® Accredited Professional of the U.S. Green Building Council. He is an alumnus of UC Santa Barbara. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on the topics of commercial development and green building.
